Department of Military Science

The Department of Military Science at UNA offers students the opportunity to develop leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills through participation in the U.S. Army ROTC program. Our program combines rigorous academic coursework with hands-on training and mentorship to prepare future officers for service in the United States Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve.
Students may pursue a two-year Basic Course with no military obligation, or continue into the Advanced Course to earn a commission as a Second Lieutenant upon graduation. The program also offers a minor in military science, financial support through scholarships and monthly stipends, and specialized pathways for nursing students and those with prior military service.
Whether you're pursuing a military career, looking for scholarship support, or simply want to build strong leadership skills, the ROTC program at UNA provides a challenging and rewarding path forward.
