Parking Request & Reservations
The University Police Department manages parking requests from our campus community for reserving parking spaces for off-campus visitors attending on-campus events, conferences, or meetings.
All Parking Requests are requested and managed through the University event management system.
- Parking requests are separate from room requests and must be entered as a separate request ticket.
- If approved, the requested spaces will be reserved using traffic cones, barricades, and/or caution tape; at the discretion of UPD.

How to use Mazevo for Parking Request (video)
- Parking requests must be made within 3 days of event.
- Parking requests are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis (check Parking Lot/Space Reservation calendar for availability)
- Parking requests are only required Monday through Friday, during business hours until 3pm.
- No parking will be reserved for events on the weekends or after 3pm (after-hours). Available parking is expected to be used at these times. (large scale “after-hour” events will need to notify UNA Police for possible operational support).
- If you feel you have a unique “after-hour” event with circumstances that would require parking reservations, please see information under “Large Scale or Outside Events”.
- Holders of UNA parking permits are prohibited from using spaces reserved specifically for events, and may be cited if they are parked in prohibited areas (UNA Parking Services Manual, Section 2A-1. )
Parking Monitoring can prove beneficial in deterring others from encroaching on your reserved spaces.
- Departments are encouraged to use their own personnel and/or student workers to monitor reserved parking during their events.
- You may request for UNA Police to monitor your reserved spaces for $30/hour at a minimum of 4 hours ($120 minimum cost).
- UPD will determine the number of monitors needed depending on amount of spaces requested (typically, 1 monitor per every 25-30 spaces).
- The requesting department will receive a budget-transfer request for cost within 30 days after event (check will be requested from non-UNA affiliates).
- Some events may require specialize resources due to scale of event or outdoor venue (such as Light the Fountain, Races, Athletic events, etc.).
- For events that do not appear manageable via Mazevo or require extensive planning and coordination with UPD, please email police@una.edu with detailed information, dates, and times of your event for further instructions.
